Red Capillar In The White Of The Eye

September 29. Tomorrow we start the tour.

If you're reading this, is because the situation remains untenable. I have written this post for weeks ... months. Today, September 29, the day of general strike, I think is a good time to see the light, as the situation changes. Maybe we throw stones on our own roof, for tomorrow we start the tour in Avatar * Huesca Intenational Fair and is more than likely that some programmers and other people in the world of theater enter the blog. First of all, I invite those who never passed through here, to look at all the same, and not just this entry. Since this space was created with the idea of \u200b\u200bsharing the "creative process" of our piece Avatar *, rather than economic issues, as is the case today. Avatar * is a scenic piece that combines dance and new technologies.

[cut and paste an entry written by myself for this blog over a month was not published (but not to delete)]

"I always considered this blog a file that serves us them to keep track of what was Avatar * process from start to finish and publish the fact evidences the willingness to share it with others who may be interested and / or serve as something our experience, and has been, we met many artists and viewers who have shared their ideas and views with us. I have therefore tried to be honest at all times and will continue. But I go for parts, first the situation briefly contextualizaré:

Currently, we are in an im-passe to Avatar * (though we live tucked in more projects and productions). On September 30 we will start the tour and go combining with other events that participate outside of this show and I both Roman. The truth is that we will be stringing one job after another and not stop until nearly the end of December. Thus, the work does not lack, is sometimes overwhelms us. But that burden, for the most part, stems from the large financial deficit that we have accumulated, which paralyzes us to extreme lengths.

Today, we have not gained the cachet agreed by the release of Avatar *, 3 performances + a 3-day cuso "movement and new technologies" both held in April 2010. It's been many months. Each and every one of those who made possible that we were there, were great with us on a personal level ... I still do, and we thank them. We have no complaint with them. But apart from that, it seems our invoice never reached its destination, we do not know why. After months of paperwork, bureaucratic level and / or administrative, we like, and the truth is that our bill has been in limbo too many months now. Each day, from administration, we ensure that our payment is "pending" and probably "tomorrow" becomes effective. The truth is that tomorrow never comes.

More generally, the experience of recent months, I will say that typically, the institutions or companies that hire Shows:

1 - offer lower budgets to ridiculous levels (if it is a new creation) or, if the show is now finished (on tour) lower the cache everything they can (base, we believe that our cachet and is very tight, and perfectly justified, that is why a minimum delay or cut could affect us both).

2 - in both cases (production or turns) almost never paid in advance work for a minimum of capital and be properly organizing the activity (in the best give us a sneak preview, we appreciate as May water) but in general, jobs are paid once completed and submitted, and may go 1, 2, 3, 4 and 5 months, as is the case. The thing, until now, has worked well, we advanced the money as best we can (obviously taking it out of our actions, but when it allows for more, pulling the most diverse and creative types of credit and finance), but when the debt is accumulated, and continue to elude the expected revenue, the situation becomes untenable and the daily rough and nothing is suitable when the routine follow creative and planning the new year.

I hope my words do not feel bad to anyone, not that you remove the desire to follow in the gap ... I have only tried to once again experience (although this may not be as fun and creative as at other times, I hope that you also serve.)

Greetings to all of you I'm sorry I exceeded the length of the text, which I know is not comfortable when reading.

So much writing for months. I read it, and I think if you should tweak it, but I've hardly done. I've only cleaned up anything in the structure to be understandable. I can not love blame anyone in particular the operation of the system. The vast majority of professionals holding positions around us, I'm sure trying to do the best you can (within the situation they encounter in their respective areas and departments.) There is always someone above you, which is what has the upper hand and until these issues are not solved at the root, it will be difficult for something to change. So, today, exactly, the day of the strike, I think we should reflect on the drift of time and show what we are concerned.
