As I told you in previous post, we really wanted to act in Lleida ... and even more so when we got to the theater and saw the room ... an immense ship, the small audience, with good visibility and also well prepared technically. Avatar * would be very nice and we were willing to re-present it publicly, after these weeks of work in the studio with new music and choreography and other visual changes. morning assembly was developed better than good. Before lunch we had the LED lights, camera and projector hung and spread on the linoleum floor thus, the evening was presented somewhat quiet and we would give us time to implement a general pass everything we talked and finally put it together on stage. So the lunch Carles, Mario, Roman and I stayed at make a pass at 6.30 to finish everything fit correctly and give us time to rest a bit before starting the function. But when we returned in the afternoon, we soon realized that this could not happen, since they started the unexpected. The first problem came to light table, so I understood the problem that they could not do submasters for some reason, tried to fix it, and also sought the instructions on the internet table, which lost us a long time and finally exit the stage without passing and without trying every scene with memory for light. On the other hand, the soundboard conectábamos every time the computer was a tremendous noise (and not talking about the typical "horn" that sometimes appears, but a very annoying noise like the radio makes when looking for a dial ) finally managed to fix it, Mario prodded the songs before starting to make sure everything was ok, and it really worked properly.
however, function very beginning, we started getting cuts of music that did not have much sense ... apparently the new version of VirtualDJ we had installed for the occasion, had misconfigured mysteriously, the truth is that the control board passed it pretty bad until they could find a solution on the fly and in full operation. From the stage I could see them lit by the monitor, and noticed that his movements were still problems. So the concentration on my part came and went in waves, but by all means trying to keep attention to the corrections we had done on the movement. The technical part of course it also worked with some unexpected bursts volumes sound (and even need to use iTunes for the last song heard in stereo) ... So with so many setbacks and avatars at the actual Avatar *, our feeling at all times was that we got to have total control of the situation. A few anxious moments in a show of this kind where everyone depends on everyone ... which brings together many parties (music, light, visual and dance) running all real-time, depending in turn on many appliances.
However, after the show, we talk and confess and gutting the secrets of these internal problems that we encountered in the bolus some friends who came to see, including the very Troguet Margarida (programmer of the Teatre del Escorxador and wonderful hostess) and Manel Montanes, which made us really happy to see again after Avatar * that first contact in the Macc 2009, in Tenerife. In short, what came to tell us, is that all these failures, we spoke, had not noticed them as spectators. But we, the truth is that during the dinner, we had a feeling of helplessness because we did a lot of anger that I had not left everything nuanced than we expected.
On Friday, Roman and I went to see the video (with fear, but saying that nothing is as critical thinking and learn from mistakes), and the truth is we do not go to our astonishment, because was much better than expected. Apart from the first cuts of music in the first scene and millimeter some details that only we know and want to happen at the right time, everything else, was quite correct, and the room contributed to stay better. All this to me personally made me think, and what I think is that daily work never falls on deaf ears, and if we really strive every day in debug and refine what we want this Avatar *, all this work is paying off almost without realizing it and despite the technical failures (of which we are never safe) ... Looking retrospectively at this gig (which we have tested them all), we have addressed the situation very professionally, and because of that work diario.y almost obsessive .. we were all so clear what we had to do at all times and we had to solve each one in turn, that even with all these problems, we were able to cope with setbacks without hardly noticing the final return results.
